Another break through for Roger came when his family's genetic predisposition to rheumatoid arthritis began to drastically affect his own quality of life. That story, in Roger's own words, is an incredible testament to the power of the work he did for his own health, and has now committed his life to sharing with others. Here's his story:
“For
as far back as I can remember arthritis has been a part of my family.
My very earliest memories of my mom are of her holding back tears
because she was 'so stiff and sore.' And then there was Aunt Ellen,
my great aunt and one of my favorite people in this world (still true
today even though she died in 1964). I have some very vague memories
of Aunt Ellen on crutches, but most of my memories are of her in a
wheel chair. She had Rheumatoid Arthritis so bad that her feet and
hands were all gnarled. Her fingers lay on top of each other and
hardly moved. Yet, she was one of the happiest people I have ever met
and she would somehow manage to hold a needle and embroider pillow
cases, dish towels and what ever else she could find. Her embroidery
work was intricate and always prized by the recipients. I have some
examples of her work tucked away to this day, as do many of my family
members. According to family lore, prior to her disabling arthritis,
Aunt Ellen had a 'nervous break down' earlier in her life and spent
time in the state mental hospital.
“Over
the years I have experienced aches and pains but I dismissed them.
After losing 100 pounds and changing my eating habits I rarely had
the previous body aches. I took up running and completed five
marathons. My body began to tire from running so I retired my running
shoes and bought a bike. In the summer of 2007, I began to notice
swelling in various joints, and I was losing strength in my right
hand, and and the knuckle of my index finger on my right had was
swelling and my finger had become very stiff and achy. I was having
problems typing on the key board, buttoning buttons, and tying my
shoes.
I used hypnosis techniques and reduced the pain, stiffness and swelling. These worked, but they were only temporary fixes, which is
what clients had reported to me over the years as well.
So
I re-read volumes of information on nutrition and rheumatoid
arthritis and one thing jumped out at me. The corn. I was eating
corn-on-the-cob every day. Fortunately, it was the end of the season
and I cut out the corn-on-the-cob. Within a few days, I noticed a
reduction in the swelling and stiffness, but it did not completely go
away.
One day while working with a client recovering from cancer it occurred to me that the same concepts should work with rheumatoid arthritis. Much to my delight, and the relief and joy of clients they do. Now the combined techniques of other professionals and my own twists on these techniques are proving to relieve the symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis.”
My
goal in creating this program is to offer that same relief to
thousands of people. Please share my story with anyone else you know
who is suffering with these unnecessary aches and challenges.
Because we all deserve to feel this good.”
